Underground Railroad Quilt (10 week workshop)

According to legend, there was a safe house along the Underground Railroad that was often indicated by a quilt hanging from a clothesline or windowsill. These quilts were embedded with a kind of code, so that by reading the shapes and motifs sewn into the design, an enslaved person on the run could know the area’s immediate dangers or even where to head next.  This will be a 10 week workshop on Saturday's starting on Saturday 1st April through to 5th August 2023.  Starting with a fabric choosing morning and first block in the afternoon, your first workshop will start you on a journey through history.  Cost of this workshop will be £30.00 per workshop (a total of £300.00 for 10 weeks) from 10am to 3pm.
