Its been such a difficult year and a half but we are so glad to have our work room back open and being used. From the 17th May we started our weekly craft sessions and getting through our outstanding workshops from 2020.
Our first weekend was full of dressmaking, our Beginners Guide to Dressmaking is for beginners or anyone returning to sewing. Our customers brushed up on their skills and learnt the correct way to do seams, darts, finishes, curves and more. They created a selection of seams, so they could choose the right one for the fabric or garment they were making. They learnt more about what their machines could do and how to sew accurately with a professional finish. They got to take home their samples for future reference.
The Fit to Finish Dressmaking workshop was a two day workshop. These ladies worked on an easier way to get a perfect master block without any pattern cutting experience. Using a simple top and skirt they were able to accurately size other patterns. They learnt that it makes designing new patterns or copying favourite clothes easier just by adding in the style elements. They achieved the perfect fit within just two days.
Sewing Zipped Pouches
This weekend we were busy sewing up Zipped Pouches on our Saturday workshop with Lindy Penny. We have run this workshop before and we were pleased to have Lindy back with us at the work room. Lots of embellishments and learning how to put a zip in was all part of the fun.
We still have spaces available on our some of our workshops, please take a look at our workshop page and book your space. You can also book yourself into one of our craft sessions and spend a day with likeminded crafters.
