Crepe is a thin fabric recognizable by its irregular grainy or crinkled texture. Originally made of silk, nowadays the fabric is made of wool, polyester or cotton. Crepe is also known as georgette. The fabric is thin and somewhat translucent, yet sturdy and tear-resistant. Clothing made of crepe fabric drapes beautifully and hardly creases, making it a popular choice for summer dresses and bridal wear. However, crepe can also be used for curtains.
